Resyca and Cyrano Therapeutics announce positive Phase 2 FLAVOR clinical trial data demonstrating the significant potential of CYR-064 delivered through soft mist nasal technology as a treatment for persistent post-viral loss of smell

22 October, 2026

Enschede, Netherlands, October 22, 2026 – Resyca®, a leading innovator in soft mist inhaler and soft nasal spray technologies, and Cyrano Therapeutics, a clinical-stage regenerative medicine company pioneering the development of treatments for smell loss, have announced the clinical validation of Cyrano Therapeutics’ lead therapy, CYR-064, delivered using Resyca’s proprietary soft mist nasal spray technology, for persistent post-viral loss of smell (hyposmia), with the positive results from the Phase 2 FLAVOR clinical trial.

Phase 2 of the FLAVOR programme enrolled 151 patients in a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled study across 14 clinical sites in the U.S. The study met its primary safety endpoint and demonstrated statistically significant improvements across two independent measures of smell function, with continued improvement through the end of the 24-week study.

The positive Phase 2 FLAVOR results highlight the important role that delivery technology can play in enabling advanced nasal therapies. Beyond smell loss, targeted delivery to the olfactory region has relevance to other applications such as nose-to-brain delivery. Cyrano Therapeutics FLAVOR trial represents an important clinical validation of Resyca’s soft mist technology as part of a drug-device combination product under active development.

Deborah Jones, CEO, Resyca said: “The FLAVOR results reinforce the importance of delivery technology in unlocking the potential of advanced nasal therapies. Our soft mist technology is designed to enhance targeted deposition in the olfactory region through low-velocity and tightly controlled droplet-size distribution. Seeing our technology successfully incorporated into a clinical stage drug-device combination program for nasal drug delivery is an important milestone for Resyca and highlights its potential value across a range of future nasal therapeutic applications.

Rick Geoffrion, President and CEO of Cyrano Therapeutics, said: “The strength of the Phase 2 FLAVOR data reinforces our confidence in CYR-064’s potential to treat persistent post-viral smell loss, with statistically significant improvements across two independent measures of smell function in patients under 60 receiving the high dose, alongside a favourable safety profile. Resyca’s core technology and its ability to help deliver CYR-064 in a fine, low-velocity mist to the olfactory region is an important contributor to the encouraging results seen in FLAVOR and a key element of our therapeutic approach as we prepare to advance into Phase 3 development.  We look forward to a close, long-lasting relationship between our 2 companies.”

Hyposmia, including post-viral hyposmia, is an increasingly prevalent and serious chronic sensory condition for which there is no approved drug therapy and limited treatment options. The successful completion of Phase 2 in the FLAVOR trial, strengthens the case for CYR-064 potentially becoming the first FDA-approved therapy indicated for the treatment of smell loss. Cyrano Therapeutics and Resyca are committed to bringing this innovative treatment to patients with chemosensory disorders and are excited to continue into Phase 3 development.
